JOB DESCRIPTION: FINANCE MANAGER

 

Based in Sandton

Paying R400K – R600K (includes Pension Fund)

Reports To: Senior Manager: Finance and Operations

 

Job Purpose and Role within organisation

 

  • The job purpose of Finance Manager for The Company is to provide, maintain and enhance the professional level of financial management, both internally and externally, as required within the professional environment of The Company.
  • The reputation and the corporate image of The Company are both factors that

you will have direct influence over.

  • As Finance Manager your main role within the organization will be to execute and manage end-to-end, the financial day-to-day operations, controls, performance,

compliance, reporting and analysis of The Company to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness of financial management within the business.

  • An excellent level of attention to detail, organisational support and stakeholder management is required from you at all times.

 

Key responsibilities and duties

 

  • Adhering to internal financial controls and processes.
  • Ensure financial team follows IFRS for SMEs and company policies and regulations.
  • Monitoring of bank accounts and business credit cards
  • Daily backup of Pastel accounting records
  • Preparation of month end journals
  • Managing of tax matters and SARS (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax)
  • Monitoring of the Pastel and YM system and integration
  • Processing of salaries on S-cubed payroll system
  • Compile monthly management accounts in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Monitor all expenses within the allotted budget and report any significant variances to Senior Manager.
  • Drive accounts receivable and suspense accounts management, and all other balance sheet activities
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets for the organisation
  • Quarterly preparation of revenue analysis
  • Assistance and involvement in internal and external audit

  • Management and development of the finance team
  • Attendance of management meetings, and participation in key decisions as a member of the management team

Experience, Training, Knowledge and Required Skills

 

  • In depth knowledge of IFRS and applicable tax and company legislation.
  • Advanced level of technology literacy and Pastel Accounting systems is required.

Qualification

 

  • Relevant qualification in Finance/Accounting
  • In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping and year end processes
  • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance role, preferably in a small business.

Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team.
