Duties & Responsibilities:


Leadership & Management:

  1. Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Project Execution & Design team to ensure high performance and professional development.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategic initiatives.

  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback.


  1. Resource Management

  • Allocate engineering resources effectively across various projects.

  • Manage engineering budgets and ensure cost-effective solutions.

  • Oversee recruitment, training, and retention of engineering staff.

Project Development & Integration:

  1. Project Design

  • Lead the design of solar, BESS, small hydro and other electrical systems.

  • Ensure the design meets project requirements and industry standards.

  • Review and approve design documents and technical specifications.


  1. System Integration

  • Oversee the integration of different renewable energy systems into a cohesive mini-grid.

  • Coordinate with electrical engineers, software developers, and other specialists to ensure seamless integration.

  • Conduct testing and validation of integrated systems.


  1. Collaboration

  • Work closely with project managers to align engineering efforts with project timelines and budgets.

  • Engage with stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and community representatives, to ensure project success.

  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., finance, procurement, operations) to support project needs.

Technical Expertise:

  1. Technical Guidance


  • Provide technical support and guidance to the engineering team.

  • Troubleshoot complex engineering issues and provide solutions.

  • Stay updated on the latest technological advancements in renewable energy.


  1. Feasibility Studies

  • Conduct feasibility studies for new projects, including site assessments, resource evaluations, and financial analysis.

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.


  1. Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks in project design and implementation.

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  1. Quality Control

  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes and standards.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.

  • Implement corrective actions for identified quality issues.


  1. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all engineering projects comply with local, national, and international regulations and standards.

  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes and update engineering practices accordingly.

  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals.

Innovation & Improvement:

  1. Process Improvement

  • Identify areas for improvement in engineering processes and workflows.

  • Implement best practices and innovative methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Monitor the impact of implemented improvements and make necessary adjustments.


  1. Technology Exploration

  • Explore and evaluate new technologies and tools in the renewable energy sector.

  • Recommend and implement new technologies that can improve project outcomes and operational efficiency.


  1. Continuous Learning

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the engineering team.

  • Organize training sessions, workshops, and seminars to keep the team updated with industry trends and technologies.

Reporting & Documentation:

  1. Project Documentation

  • Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.

  • Maintain records of design documents, technical specifications, test results, and project reports.


  1. Performance Reporting

  • Prepare and present regular reports on project progress, engineering performance, and budget status to senior management.

  • Use data and analytics to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  1. Client Relations

  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with engineering solutions.

  • Address client feedback and make necessary adjustments to project plans.


  1. Community Engagement

  • Work with community representatives to ensure projects meet local needs and gain community support.

  • Address any concerns or issues raised by the community.

  1. Industry Representation

  • Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and events.

  • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.




Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience with solar, BESS, offgrid electrical systems.

  • Strong project management skills and experience managing medium to large-scale off grid projects.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
