Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Supervision:
  • Manage and lead a team.
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to the machine shop team.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • CNC Programming and Operations:
  • Develop and implement CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines, including lathes, mills, etc.
  • Ensure all CNC machines are maintained and calibrated for optimal performance.
  • Production Management:
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee all machining operations to meet production deadlines.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust resources as needed to optimize efficiency.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., engineering, quality control) to ensure seamless production processes.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on machined parts to verify accuracy and quality.
  • Address and resolve any quality issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and improve machining processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Recommend and implement new tools, equipment, and methods to improve shop efficiency.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a machine shop environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.
