Power BI Consultant
We are looking for an experienced and creative Power BI Consultant to help our clients leverage data visualization and business intelligence capabilities. This role is crucial for transforming complex data into actionable insights and enabling data-driven decision-making for our clients. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in data analysis, advanced Power BI skills, and a passion for delivering impactful, client-focused BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report & Dashboard Development: Design and develop sophisticated Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to meet client needs across various industries.
- Client Collaboration & Requirement Gathering: Work closely with clients to understand their data requirements, business needs, and key performance indicators, ensuring solutions align with their goals.
- Data Integration & Transformation: Integrate and transform data from diverse sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files, to create unified and robust datasets.
- Data Model Optimization: Optimize data models for performance, implementing best practices for handling large datasets to ensure scalability and efficiency.
- Advanced Analytics with DAX: Develop and implement DAX measures and calculated columns to provide advanced analytics capabilities.
- Training & Support: Provide comprehensive training and support for Power BI users at various skill levels, from beginners to advanced users, ensuring client teams are empowered to use Power BI effectively.
- Data Governance & Security: Implement data governance and security best practices, ensuring proper access controls, data protection, and compliance with client policies.
- Industry Knowledge & Power BI Trends: Stay updated on the latest Power BI features, industry trends, and complementary technologies in the Microsoft ecosystem to continually improve client solutions.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot complex issues related to data connectivity, performance, and visualization, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Power BI with other client systems and to support comprehensive BI solutions.
- Power BI Health Checks & Optimization: Conduct health checks and provide recommendations for optimizing existing Power BI implementations.
- Mentorship & Practice Growth: Mentor junior consultants, contributing to the growth and development of the Power BI practice within the organization.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Power BI Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with Power BI and data visualization in enterprise environments, with a strong portfolio of impactful BI solutions.
- Data Modeling & ETL Skills: Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and database design principles to enable efficient data handling and transformation.
- DAX & M Language Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in DAX and M languages for data manipulation, calculations, and analytics.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving, with a focus on delivering data-driven insights.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build client trust.
- Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in various client environments and adapt to different client needs and requirements.
- Business Intelligence Experience: Experience with large-scale data analysis and business intelligence projects, delivering value across diverse business functions.

- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
Additional Skills:
- Other BI Tools: Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) for comparative insights and cross-platform knowledge.
- Statistical Analysis & Machine Learning: Knowledge of statistical analysis and basic machine learning concepts for advanced data insights.
- Programming Proficiency: Familiarity with SQL and either R or Python for advanced data manipulation and analysis.
- Data Warehousing & Big Data: Understanding of data warehousing concepts and big data technologies to support large-scale analytics.
