Senior Full Stack TypeScript Node Software Engineer - Cape Twon mostly remote - R1.3m PA

Currently in search for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join a team of specialist.

You will have to develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript, Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of professional commercial software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Node.js with TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., Kafka)
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
• A strong commitment to writing well-tested software with robust unit testing practices
• Self-starter with the ability to independently execute tasks from high-level requirements
• Node.js; TypeScript; SQL; Kafka
• Docker; Kubernetes
• Collaborate on multi-tenant and self-hosted platform development to support diverse deployment models
• Write clean, maintainable code with a strong focus on unit testing to achieve 80% test coverage
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and actuaries, to integrate AI/ML pipelines
• Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making
• Debug and optimize application performance to ensure scalability and reliability

Reference Number for this position is GZ60045 which is a permanent position based in Cape Town however is predominantly remote offering a cost to company salary to R1.3m Per annum  negotiable on experience and ability.
