Service Sales Engineer


Job Purpose

The main functions of the Sales Engineer are to maintain service/support programs to support the diagnostic portfolio and to develop sales in the designated region by maintaining a good relationship with the end users and by focusing on growing sales and achieving overall sales objectives as well as other defined performance metrics.


Duties and Responsibilities

o Demonstrate good problem-solving skills

o Develop a complete understanding of the products sold by our company

o Market positioning of the products

o Establish and maintain good working relationships with the service/support managers and work closely with them to solidify and enhance their perception of our company’s ability to deliver exceptional service/support in a competent and professional manner

o Technical and scientific support to our company customers

o Achieving the sales targets

o Preparing workshops for customers

o Frequent visits to the customers in the territory (minimum of 15 productive visits per week)

o Identify procedural problems and recommend improvements to management

o Preparation of sales reports and charts

o Conduct presentations and demos for customers

o Demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in using Microsoft windows suite, able to interact with vendors, customers as an expert as well as our company personnel and management

o Liaise with all technical and marketing personnel at head office to offer the necessary support to distribution partners & customers and fully service their accounts.

o Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational webinars, and reviewing product documentation and suppliers’ updates

o Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as expected by management

o Installation & commissioning of instrumentation at customers’ sites. 
o Performing all maintenance works for installed instrumentations. 
o Designing templates for all documentation related to service and maintenance calls. 
o Establishing a corporate service policy with detailed guidelines. 
o Establishing and maintaining records of all installed instrumentation in the region with complete history of failures, repairs and maintenance as well as schedules of all services performed. 
o Develop service requests, contracts and reports for customers. 
o Train other service engineers within the company.  
o Attend and comprehend technical training sessions and be able to provide the necessary technical support and back up to customers.  
o Build a strong customer database. 
o Plan all service and spare parts requirements for the company. 


Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Must be tenacious and success-oriented, a self-starter with high energy.
  • Strong business, communications, and information technology knowledge.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply technical knowledge relating to company and competitor's offerings.
  • Ability to travel at least 50%.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, fast-growth environment where action and initiative are prerequisites to performing well.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • French language skills are desirable
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications


Educations and Experience

o Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering/Electronics Engineering

o 3 - 5 years of experience

o Service contracts Sales experience

o Experience in using CRM and SW tools to manage day-to-day activities

o Customer service and satisfaction oriented
